Extensive landscape design compliments main house and grounds. New house replaced an existing 1930's era house on the property that was beyond practical renovation for owner's needs.

New 2 car garage with guest/artist studio to compliment existing Historic 1750's era center hall Colonial house set high on a hillside in northern Fairfield County. Outbuilding marries traditional materials such as natural fieldstone, hand split vertical board siding and hand split cedar shake roof with modern 21st century conveniences such as energy efficient windows, lighting and heating.

New 500 square foot pool house for stately backcountry estate completed 2014. Complete with changing rooms, bathroom, outdoor shower, full bar and great room with built-in cabinets, large screen TV/built in sound system. Remote operated roll-down storm shutters protect during bad weather and lantern cupola has electrically operated windows for ventilation. Handcut stone pool deck and extensive landscaping punctuate a lovely project for great clients.

Alterations and additions to lovely Craftsman style home. PCDFA enlarged family room and breakfast area with access to new multi-level deck with garden dining area and pergola shaded hot tub. Thoughtful landscaping, tasteful furnishings, lighting and interior finishes infused new understated elegance into this comfortable home. Classically detailed pergola with fieldstone fireplace and barbecue creates a lovely outdoor room for 3 season entertaining at backcountry estate. PCDFA designed project progressed from concept sketches through construction in only 5 weeks, ready for a catered Halloween party! A new dimension was added to the home by blurring the delineation between indoor and outdoor living space and design cues for the pergola and landscaping complement the home and grounds perfectly.

Energy efficient, well appointed home designed to maximize buildable land on very challenging site with significant ledge while also staying true to Town of Greenwich Zoning and floor area ratio (FAR) requirements. Design goal was to create a comfortable, classic home and we are proud of the finished result!
